Anne-Ruth Alton

Anne-Ruth Alton was born in 1952 in Manchester and lived for many years in the north west of England. She now lives in south west Wales. She won first prize in the Tenby Arts Festival Open Writing Competition 2002 and her short stories have appeared in small press magazines. She was one of the contributors to Honno's autobiographical collection on women's sexual experiences, 'Laughing, Not Laughing'. Her most lucrative piece of creative writing to date was an 11-word tie-breaker sentence which won her a £5000 cruise holiday to Norway. She has an MA in English Literature and Philosophy and teaches Creative Writing for the Open College of Arts.
