Publications for Hilda Vaughan
Hilda Vaughan (1892-1985) was born in Builth Wells and lived both in Wales and the USA. Preoccupied as a writer of fiction with the ill-matched marriage, the tale of the Welsh fairy bride would naturally have attracted her attention. 'Iron and Gold' was first published in 1948 and is considered the most characteristic and the most Welsh of her novels, although it is the only one not based on a plot of her own devising. She published ten novels and a novella 'A Thing of Nought' which is regarded as her best work and has been reprinted as part of the Honno Classics series in 'A View Across the Valley'.
