Publications for Maria Donovan
Maria Donovan was born in West Dorset. She lived in Holland for several years and trained as a nurse. A variety of jobs followed, from gardener to magician's assistant, and she travelled around Europe. A mechanical breakdown left her sitting in a caravan on a mountainside in Asturias with time to face up to her desire to write. Later that year she came to Trefforest to study at the University of Glamorgan with the aim of making a permanent space in her life for this work. After graduation she moved to Llandaff and has been teaching fiction and non-fiction at Glamorgan while also working towards an M.Phil. in Writing. Her short stories have appeared in Mslexia and New Welsh Review and her ultra-short fiction is published by the-phone-book.com. Her biography of Megan Lloyd is published in Sideways Glances, edited by Jeni Williams. She lives with her partner Mike and dog Bertie.
