Melanie Mauthner

Melanie Mauthner is a social science lecturer at the Open University. In the 1990s she was involved in setting up and teaching Women's Studies at Swansea University. She has a background in journalism and social research. She has written [italics:Sistering: Power and Change In Female Relationships] (Palgrave 2002) and co-edited two collections about feminist research ([italics:Ethics In Qualitative Research], Sage 2002); and [italics:The Politics of Gender and Education; Critical Perspectives], Palgrave 2004). Her short story The Lido, won first prize in Lambeth's Impressions of Brixton competition 2003. She lives in South London.
