Publications for Rona Laycock

Rona Laycock

Rona Laycock was born in Bangor. She now lives in Gloucestershire but her Welsh family and the places she has lived overseas heavily influence her writing. She married and moved to Tunisia in 1974 and started writing in a desultory way there and in Cairo. While living in Pakistan she visited the Buddhas of Bamiyan, in the times before the Russians or the Taliban took over Afghanistan, and was inspired to take her scribblings more seriously. Since then several of her poems and short stories have been successful in competitions and have been published in anthologies, helping to pay for the paper they were printed on. She teaches at Cirencester College and occasionally at Knuston Hall Adult Residential College, encouraging complete beginners to have fun with creative writing.
